The Mayor of the Far North and the Far North (Kaitaia) RSA Invite you to the unveiling and rededication of Kaitaia’s restored World War I Memorial
The monument is of great historical significance as the only fully bilingual WW1 memorial.
A local Māori leader, Riapo Puhipi, (Leopold Busby) the ancestor of local kaumatua and famed navigator Hekenukumai Busby (ONZM, MBE) led the initiative.
